Babies Children Adults Triathlon Crash Course

Learning to swim can be daunting for some children. For others it’s a doddle! Either way, our teaching pathway will ensure that every child develops their swimming style with grace and relaxation.

Our dedicated instructors will motivate your child through a structured programme of 7 stage levels. The lessons are delivered in private (1:1) or shared (2:1) classes meaning we can individually tailor learning plans for each and every swimmer. And by providing you with dedicated lesson feedback through Home Portal, you will be kept fully informed every step of the way.

Our most advanced swimmers will be invited onto the Swimming Rocks Mini Squad program in preparation for squad or club swimming.

FAQs

When is the best time to start swimming lessons?

The earlier the better! It’s never too early to start. Our children’s programme starts from 3 years of age but we also have lessons for babies and toddlers too.

What happens at my first lesson?

Depending on the venue, you may need to sign in at reception to gain access to the venue. Your Instructor will meet you on the poolside. The first lesson is often a ‘softer’ introduction to ensure that the Instructor gains the confidence of the child and to get a better understanding of their abilities.

How long will it take for my child to learn how to swim?

Every child is different and there is no time line on how fast a child will learn and develop. We will provide feedback after each lesson which will give you an idea how long it may take to move to the next level.

Does my child need to wear goggles?

If their feel more comfortable we suggest that they can wear goggles although we do encourage some submersion without goggles for swim safety.

And what about a swimming hat?

We suggest that all students wear a swim cap. Swimming Rocks provide high quality swimming hats free of charge and in a variety of colours. Please ask your Instructor for your swim hat.

Do I need to book a full term?

Yes, we do not offer ad-hoc lessons.

Can we still swim if my child is sick?

We advise that you should not swim if your child has a fever or is vomiting or has diarrhoea. Colds and sniffles should be fine.

Is there a way I can track my child’s swimming progress?

Yes, we provide each family with their own access to HOME PORTAL where you can see your child’s attendance and assessments. This is updated after each lesson.

Can we use the swimming pool after our lesson?

Unless you are a member of the club, you are requested to kindly leave the pool after your lessons.

Can I take photos and videos of my child’s lesson?

To ensure the protection and privacy of the other students we are unable to allow any video’s or photos to be taken of the lessons.
